Ok. I went.
I was intending to get there at 10:00 but that did not happen. I was late getting out of my house and so much traffic on Parramatter Road. I got there by 10:20 or so. On the way I saw a friend drive pass in his car and we ended up chatting while in traffic. He was heading to work and so mention that I should meet up with him for lunch to catch up. I agreed and so I had a deadline. I spent about 2.5 - 3 hours at the show and walked around three times. Stopped to listen to some presentation on this and some talk about that. Spoke to one person about this and ....that. The entry fee was $17.00 and if I stayed all day at the parking bay I would have paid $15.00. Last year I parked in the same parking bay and expected the entrance to be at the same location. Well it is not. It is on the opposite side. A little walk never hurts, the rain does (I'm melting, i'm melting). Did I come out with any bargains. As with everything you got to know your products and prices. I did purchased some items. Rod and reel for boat fishing. It did take me a little while to make a decision and I did talk to several sales persons. Is that all you are asking. Well not quite. I purchased a fire blanket for the house. I will say that I did enjoy going to this show and was ok with it this year. Two years ago I went with a friend and we stayed the whole day from start to even after finish. Last year I only did 4.5 to 5 hours at the show. We will see what happens next year. At close to 12:50 is the time that I left the show. Got my little stamp on the exit. SHOW in red ink. And headed off to lunch at Westmead. Those not interested in lunch can drop off now. I had Snow Pea's vegetable dish with your choice of meat. Only cost me $7.00. Christos |

I went at around 7pm. My weekend is booked so this was my only chance. It was a desert there, it may have been only me and about 20 other visitors there, but it was pretty late and at least there were no crowds to compete with. However I still highly reccomend it. I came out with a new pair of special fishing sunnies (photochromatic) and a new Shimano Rack Raider. Both at great prices.
I talked to Dave Butfield and one of the Dans from 2 Dans Fishing. Pretty cool. The only downside was that all of the higher end Daiwa reels and rods were discounted, but still expensive in the sense I could get them at other places for that price. However there are some great deals to be found. -------------------- DANCE!

Just to help you answer Steve's Question Goldfish I will answer for you.
Photochromatic lenses feature some of the most advanced technology found in sunglass lenses today. Photochromy works when there is an increase in light intensity and the lenses react by darkening, ideally by 20%-30%, or there is a reduction in light intensity so the lenses lighten resulting in a lens which reacts to light. -------------------- I WANNA GO: FISHIN WITH SUMO.

Jumpy I was gonna take pictures of you with the new photochromatics, but then I remembered one look at you and the lense would break!
The sunnies were marked down from $300 to $200. They are from Mako, so I know it's a good brand. Get the light brown coloured lense instead of the copper colour because then you don't get the orange tinge. Yeah photochromatics are good, I neeed as my previous sunnies were only polarised and couldn't really see through the water that well (compared to photochromatics). I advise going, there are some great stalls with quality gear for great prices. -------------------- DANCE!

I went to batemans bay fishing and 4x4 show, and it was the same poo as everyyear, HOWEVER I had a close encounter with the plastic parrot and his tubs... Had a stickybeak at the cuddy and they have a pretty simple but usable platform.. HOWEVER, Boab Boat hires big plate boat took the cake!
And the girl in the umm, I dunno what stand she was in but she was HOT!! Also decided, AGAIN, that im not going to go next year, just like i said last year and the one before that! |

The Sydney show is better because more people live in sydney and therefore you get a bigger and better show. Fishing shows in small towns like Batemans will be small and won't attract the big name brands and products.

sheez pigs realy do fly
About those sunny's,they've been around for a while i beleive. A dude who used to work here used'ta wear them riding his Harley and he swore by them. But at that price i'll stick to the polarised $24 buck specials that i can treat like crap, cause whenever i get a good fish their the first things to get chucked on the deck or where ever they may land. -------------------- catch ya
