g'day all i am thinking of fitting a taco and trim gauge to poly, i think the only way to do it to flush mount them to the inner hull on the drivers side, i would like to wear what u all think.

yes J G i do have acess thats not a problem by removing the 24lt petrol tank from there i can reach well up in to the space between the inner and outer hulls.
melt meter now thats thinking, i will email polycraft to day and have them send one down. ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- bugger it's sold, got meself a house instead

I wouldn't bother with a trim gauge Poly and think long & hard about where to put the tacho.
I hate drilling holes in boats, especially virgin boats. I think you may be able to find (google) a digital tacho that will surface mount and be much cheaper too. Just kicking alternatives around here. -------------------- ![]() SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

Poly, I would agree with FED, that a good digital tacho will face mount and is easy to read, I also believe that trim guages are a total waste of time as you feel the trim position and don't need a guage to tell you.

Poly I forgot to mention that apart from your compass the most useful other guage is a clock.

http://www.keitheickert.com/detail~ID~3.aspx ![]() this gauge retails $79.95 us a far cry from the $300 for a yammy one, has any one herd of this brand -------------------- bugger it's sold, got meself a house instead

That one looks good Poly so long as it suits your motor.
I orefer analogue gauges too, you can see them at a glance without having to think about what they're saying. I still can't cop digital watches either. -------------------- ![]() SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

Poly, this Tacho you have shown is made by Teleflex or comonly known as Teleflex Morse it is an American company marketed in Australia by BLA ( Bob Littler Agencies ) Teleflex is the same company that makes all the steering systems including the Hydraulic Steering, and the throttle and gear cables, have a look at the logo on any boat steering wheel
Teleflex products are available from Most Dealers, the tacho you have shown bears the name of the Major Dealer or Distributor of the product in their State. Teleflex will manufacture their Products under the name of major OEM's including Mercury,OMC, Chrysler and so on, they are Genuine parts made for most Marine Company's. fist of all i must thank u all for the help i am getting with this, what i really need is to come up with a better way to mount the gauges JUMPUS and i discussed it in the shout box last night and i am hoping he will post up his idea so i can reread it.
not having a console in an open boat to mount such thing as sounders gauges radios ect ect , i do believe that threads like this can help other open boat owners to solve Thea's problems ![]() thanks again to u all ![]() -------------------- bugger it's sold, got meself a house instead

As I said 2 ewe in shoutbox I'm puzzled why ewe would want to cut unnessary holes out it the boat for.
Add to that most suggestions made ewe say wont work or dont suit ewe. If thats the case then ewe have only one choice dont cut out any holes mount tacho on a bracket & position where ewe think it will suit. Worst case case senario you'll have a couple of screw holes but if you use your noggin & mount bracket in a manner where those holes aren't seen then they wont matter a great deal. ![]() -------------------- ![]() Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |

u are of course quite wright JG and that is the type of thinking i am looking for, between your self and Sumo i now have a way of doing it with out cutting in to the boat.
thanks heaps ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- bugger it's sold,got meself a house instead
