So ive got my last chance to go fishing pretty much untill decemeber! a 2 day window Monday Tuesday, and its my only option, but there is a probelm!!
Do i risk the wind and head away to get my fix or do I sit at home thinking about fishing? Gear is packed, all i gotta do is hook boat on and go!!!!

With a max predicted 20 knots with only 1 metre seas is still reasonable, as long as you don't go out wide and don't have to negeotiate bars.
Go for it early and get a few good hours in before it turns nasty. -------------------- Frank

Well had an AWESOME!!! Few days, nothing like fishing by yourself, kick back and do things your own way..
Overall Tally; 50 odd flatties, 6 nice 50cm models that came home, the rest swam free, 3 nice snapper and heaps of other species including a 20kg blue groper which unfortunately got taken by a seal while trying to release.. Took the boat for a run out to the shelf, trolled some lures for a few hours, just so i can say ive done it in my boat Heres a few pics!

Good work Rumpus. Glad to see someone else is catching something. Bought new wheels for my boat trailer the other day. The old ones have melted into the driveway and need replacing. The boat trailer also needs some refurbishing and TLC. So does the boat. Oh crap - think I will go and have a fish off the rocks.

It only seems like 500 metres because those glass boats are so smooth and so fast.
Yeah, get your finger out KK. -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

Ha Ha Ha funny Kids, My boat is smooth, fast, doesnt break down and the fish i catch actually see the indode of the boat!
Actually took a pic of the chart plotter somewhere around the southern canyons cause I thought there would be doubters.. On the second day, the rough weather made life in the sussex bay pretty miserable and the trip to JB was the roughest test for the boat yet, probably a 2m Swell (counting the sloppy backwash) and 20kt winds. Did take some spray over the front but boat handled it very well. was slow going so backed off a little more and put some lures in and kicked back. |
