Coming home from my last trip, the allow strip that runs around the perspex windows has come loose from the canopy pulling on it in the wind.. Needs re gluing and just wondering what the best glue to use would be??

I'm with Pez mate, don't think they're glued.
You should have at least the pop rivet heads from the press studs going into the perspex, I think mine has got screws right through it with little nyloc nuts on the inside as well. Bloody freezing here I'll have a look tomorrow. -------------------- ![]() SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

there are slots in the window where the rivets are so its not held in by rivets and no screws.

OK so I had a look at mine, what a head spin.
The bottom of the screen has screws going all the way through and they are also used to secure the bottom of the screen to the boat, there is no way of telling if the perspex is slotted or oversized holes drilled in it. At the top I have a little piece of L shaped angle to stop water blowing under the canopy which is secured by screws into the main U channel but those screws don't go all the way through. Also have the pop rivets for the studs, they also don't go through and there's no way of telling if the perspex is slotted over oversized holes there either, I couldn't see the rivets being expanded in the perspex as I think it would crack for sure. In addition to that I have countersunk screws fitted inside the channel which secure through an internal grab rail with nyloc nuts. So after all that I don't think mine is secured by the perspex at all, is your canopy too tight or are you driving too fast? Maybe you could fit the L shaped angle across the top to stiffen it up a bit, yell out if you want a picture of it. -------------------- ![]() SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

lol they would be held in by the rubber and some flexible silicon like they used in the older cars.
That what my Swiftcraft had for all windows on the side and at the front. -------------------- ![]() |

I was thinking rumpus, dangerous I know, if the top alloy frame is pulling up then the corners must be pulling in, are they secure?

Corners are secure fed...
I pulled the strip right off yesterday by removing a screw in each end and lifting it off, the old silicon fell out once it came off.. Cleaned it all down and put new silicon on it and screwed it back on and tied the middle down untill the silicon sets.. Should be all good.. no Grooves, No Screws through perspex, just silicon.. ![]() |

Sounds like you've got it licked mate, if it plays up again I'll grab some pics of that extra little angle.
