If you can try and be serious JG for 1 minute, can get a 585 for under 1k out of the US, figure that many pro boats been using them for years so will be more than good enough for me!
What transducer do I get but?? can get a TM Tri-Ducer 50/200KHZ 600W |

First I'd be looking to finish up with 2 units to get larger screen sizes rather than a combo Rumpus.
In my book it goes without saying Furuno ticks all the boxes for quality. I'd also be looking at how the units can interact with each other if at all + any nmea input benefits. I'd be looking at what maps are available for them and comparing screenshots of the same areas. Bloody nightmare really, glad it's your problem and not mine. Most important... Make sure the sounder shows fishies on it and with a big screen they will look huge. -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

We have a 585 in the small boat and a 627 in the tinny.
The 585 vs the 587 they are basically identical. Newer model slightly better screen ect plus the bottom structure indication. IMO no point buying a 585 if you don't use a 1kw tranny if you are going 600w just buy a 620 with a p66 transducer. |

Yea, thanks for the advice POD... just like the idea of the big screen!! if i go the smaller one ill go the 627...
Been speaking to Marine Direct about A upgrade chart for the navman which will improve its use as a plotter and then get the sounder... |
