its been a very dull day here in Canberra so for a bit of amusement i have been compering prices of different things, it wasn't till i started to look at the price of outboard motors that got my back up. We are paying just on double to those people in the U.S.
A Suzuki DF-90-L on this side of the pacific $14.240 the same motor in the U.S. $7.890 this would have to be the rip off of the decade Now I know owe market is no were near as big as the U.S.so I would expect to pay a bit more but not double, its way to much. http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2011-Suz...-Model-94156103 http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Boats/Boat-A...773818?AdOnTop= Paul -------------------- bugger it's sold, got meself a house instead

Be a much quicker ride home with donk on the back Keep telling ewe but ewe never listen Blame the F'n unions in this country for pushing prices through the roof but do ewe ever listen ?? $7.890 is alot of money to the yanks who earn 1/2 of what ewe do for doing the same job -------------------- Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |

Although it first appears as a huge 50% saving, the price on the yankie model may or may not enclude controls, or Prop, it certainly doesn't enclude delivery, import duty ( whatever you want to call it ?)
it doesn't cover the 10% sales tax, shore as hell doesn't cover fitting or any instruements, and may or may not cover any sort of warranty. That add would probably sell about 10 or so Suks from Australia but would sell a coupole of thousand motors in the states so the volume of sales is not simply double of what it is in OZ it's hundreds or thousands of times the volume. Like anything you bring into this country,,, you can get it here a lot cheaper.... IS it worth it?. -------------------- Frank

Lol by the time you freight 1 unit plus 10% import duty plus across wharf charges and LCL deconsolidation fees. That motor would be close to $12,000 and you would not have a warranty in Australia unless you can arrange it thru Suzuki.
As most items have a cross link to the Country it was supplied to by the manufacturer serial numbers. Look at me I have copies of Xp which are geniune but because I imported out of the USA they come up as illegal copy even thou they are not . -------------------- |

I reckon the $7.890 is a rip-off when you can buy a whole car for <$15K.
