Cabin Fever Cured!, Botany Bay 31st August 2010. Options

Decided that yesterday was looking good for a “shake-down cruise” after hiding inside while those cold westerlies blew.
A few maintenance checks and a cleanup and we were off to an early start. Seeing our favourite servo was closed we fuelled the boat the day before and organised the bait and burley. All that was left to do in the morning was to pack the esky and for FED to have his 2 cups of coffee. We managed to be off and heading for the boat ramp by 6.30 a.m.

BOAT WENT REALLY WELL!

The bay was very clean (for a change) … anchored in about 5 metres and could see the rocks and weed clearly.

Thought we would give ‘squidding’ a try as FED has never caught one. Thanks to ‘he who shall be praised’ for the jigs and tips we/I did OK!
( Didn’t tell FED where the patch of squid were. )

I have learnt the knack of catching them but just couldn’t get them in the boat. Think I was over excited and dragged them in too roughly – NEXT TIME!

Managed one small squid that decided to let FED have it and inked him, me and THE boat! The next one was a good size but as FED was about to slide it out of the net into the bucket I tripped with the bucket (MJ dance not my thing) and the squid went home to his kids. *Trust me* the FED was not happy! Nice lot of calamari swimming away.

Not much else to report a couple of undersized snapper and what appeared to be a shovel nose but he went for an early release as he reached the boat.

The nor’ easterlies really started blowing just on lunchtime, lots of white-caps at the entrance of the bay, so we packed up and had a leisurely trip back up the river.

Hoping for another nice day real soon … not too soon though … next week will be fine!

ps] Found a new super sneaky secret spot 2day & cleaned up once I found out where they were lurking, started off slow cause silly me listened to that brurry irriot DuckFlakka & played Micheal Jackson.

WELL HE'S NO LONGER IN THE TOP 40 CHARTS SLID RIGHT OUT

Wont take long to determine the difference between weed and squid guys... You can tell by the way the weed doesnt squirt back at you

It's nearly as easy as spotting Bees approaching you @ the boat ramp

He came to visit the udder day & I spotted him a mile away

Figured there's only wun wally out there walking around with wun white glove

Used 2Bees Tu of them but the udder wun got a thriller & died
