Heaps out there.....
But i aint been getting the quality that ive seen pulled in!
About a week ago a good mate calls me at 9 p.m. telling me he got a 12 kg Kingy off Long Reef beach.
I thought he was full of it so i had to go and check it out. At night, off the beach....
It actually went 11.4 kg.

One of the local fellas took his mate out a few days ago. The guy has never fished before and he landed his first fish, a King 16 kg!!!

Went down the ramp for a walk on Saturday with the missus. One of the fellas had 2 Kings. One went 9 kg, the other 20 kg!
Never seen one that big before. It wasnt as big as youde think length wise, but geez was he fat!
The thing had a head on it that seemed 1/3 of its total length!

Kings arent that common at the moment in terms of the rats being around, but the ones that are round are big and fat at the moment.
Mixed in with some good Reds ive seen down the ramp and some thumper Samsons im spewing that works been hammering me the last few months and getting in the way of fishing!

Have been getting out once or twice a week but been lazy or too busy to post reports.
Been getting fish, but no trophy fish...

Been heaps of sharks out there pinching our catch on the wau up and on Sunday a Mako took my mates floater and done 2 massive jumps out the water before he started pulling drag.
Bloody beautiful to see. We got him to the boat before he bit through the line.

With strong southerlies and big swell this weekend il be fishing saturday and sunday and me thinks il have something to write home about!

EWe better hope a bit of current picks up for the weekend Jelly Bean

Fished longy today for small Reds, Kungs were in Plague proportions must've released around 30 only 3 would've made legal size.

Big chinamen chewing my shiny prop hysterical.gif

Burleying was as good as useless with no current movent all the crap came to the surface & ate it all

Did have a small hammerhead cruising around for 20 odd minutes he got rid of the shit but he disappeared

Saturday had a reasonable current and when i ducked out early sunday it was pretty strong abit wider but non existent out the front.
As the morning progressed it tapered to virtually nothing.
Thats the prob. Here one day and gone the next, along with the fishies...

If the swell stays up and the wind turns more of a southerly by the weekend, the reds will be there!
