On page 41 (that's the weather page) of the sun herald one will find an article about the banning of electric fishing reels. it would seem that the N.S.W.advisory council on recreational fishing are saying these reel's are not a traditional (or) acceptable form of fishing???????????? how dose that work.
Modern fishing page 114 an article by Steve Starling, seems like the government are trying to set a hard and fast rule on how far you can take a boat (of given length) off sure. now its true that there are dick heads that will try and go miles out to sea in the most inappropriate boats, as you all know i own a 4.1 and on a good day i will slip out around the headlands, but only when the weather is spot on, Am I to be penalized because of a few dick heads ????????????????? were will all this stop, will a boat like the big one jumpy built be aloud to fish browns mt ????????????????? best stop now or i will be looking for a politician to yell at.

With the banning of electric reels. Just go to your local JP and get a script that says you suffer with arthritis or some other form of complaint that would make winding a conventional reel difficult.
They can't then fine you for using one for medical grounds.
There's always a way around this type of nonsense.
As for limiting small boats to inner/close grounds, I see this as a positive rather then a negative IF and I repeat IF it is done with some common sense.
An established weather pattern should be stipulated ie 15 knotts and nothing smaller then 4,5, 15 knotts and under smaller boats then 4.5 be allowed up to 3 miles offshore. Something to this effect, under certain conditions small boats can be taken off shore but those condiditions don't come about often or for long.
It's an area where there is no black and white, just different shades of grey.

Seems Authoritys are losing the plot of late
Not a fan of electic reels & dont deem the use of them as fishing
I actually take the piss out of people I know who use them

As far as boat length offshore goes ?

Well I really think there are alot of fruitloops out there, just last week I saw a tinny under 5 meters out on Browns Mt
Some may say so wot, but this was a tiller steeer boat with a drop down transom all it would've taken was wun wave
Grant it wind was minimal but the swell was definately there sum up around 3 odd meters.

In summary again tis sum ting I've been saying for sum time Authoritys keep imposing Fish Santuarys in close so wot do they expect, people will venture further out cause they cant fish the spots they've been fishing for years.

Another thing again DPI should take responsibility for wittle boats heading so far out cause it's the FAD's they drop out there which lure the small boats out so far

It would seem that we are missing the point here, when it comes to the use of electric reels the N.S.W.advisory council are saying its not a traditional (or) acceptable form of fishing, if not what is, will they take g.p.s. and sounders next, will hand lines be acceptable, may be it would be best to join Christos on the stones with throwing spear in hand.
There are a lot of greens and bureaucrat's (ie N.S.W.advisory council for recreational fishing) that need to look as if they are doing something to juster fie there pay

Sorry frank there is no way they will come up with system like that, it would be more like any boat under 8mts must stay with in the 2mile limit, after all we know just how stupid a lot of the regs are getting when it comes to boating

Lol this just doesn't go for fishing. Take my industry and the Greenes have won locking up Forests and not allowing us within 150 metres of a water coarse so alot of species will disappear.
