My cousin Jimmy called me to go for a fish on his 15ft half cabin.....as i had been sick for a few days....i thought what better way to get over the virus...go fishing.....
Jimmy his brother Haden and myself were on the water around 3pm....water was a bit choppy around the drums and no bites...went to the oil wharf and anchored behind the oil tanker for protection from the wind, but all we could hook up was octopus.... so we moved to another spot....the wind had settled down a bit....we stayed at this spot from 4:30pm until 8:30pm.... lots of bites and catches from juvenille snapper....then the large Trevally's were on the bite....between 3 of us we caught 15 ranging from 32cm - 50cm.....boy are they fun to catch... I hooked up a large King Fish on my smaller rod...it has 20lb braid, after about a 10 minute fight with minimal drag, the damn thing still managed to snap my main line, not the trace..... After about 1/2 hour Jimmy lost a large salmon at the boat....instead of guiding it to the net, he thought he would lift it out of the water, and what do you know, he lost it....and later he lost a large jewie.... Not to be outdone i managed to hook up a nice 60cm salmon....and a couple of descent sized bream..... a port jackson shark and a stingray... All in all it was a fantastic afternoon of enjoyable fishing..... Nearly forgot, guess who we came across fishing in the Bay......good old Jumpus.... These are the fish i took home.....Jimmy and Haden took their share home...i didn't take a picture of all...if they have i will add later... This post has been edited by Majed: Mar 9 2010, 09:32 PM
