I think we should use the Aboriginal flag at least it would have some meaning, sky-sun-earth whatever.

Most kids would have no idea of the of the crosses on the Union Jack or the Southern Cross and the Federation Star.

A good dose of patriotism could be a good thing for us too.

By all means dump the union jack bit of the flag and replace it with the aboriginal symbol, but leave the southern cross were it is

this topic has had has much debated and said about as to wherther the earth is flat or not.....

in this country there are 3 flags.. of course you have the Aboriginal flag, then there is the internationaly recognised Australian flag but we also have the
boxing kangaroo flag...

a countries flag is a symbol of the country itself... to simply drop 1 flag and to replace it with another is barbarron....

i am of the view that yes this shoul be brought up for public discussion but only after we have fixed the issues that effect us more importantly..

Politicians & extremists like to wastse millions of $$'s on petty issues like flags not to mention that Goose Paul Keating when he was prime mincer on referrendums trying become a president.

And all this when we were in the worst reccesion that I could remember.

Well not that I care one way or the other about royalty these days and good old mother britain but I am quiet happy with our current flag, until such time as we become a republic the union jack must remain.

But getting back to the original topic. I am fully behind it. I believe our population needs no more people coming into our cities, if they were set up in the outer towns and could be self suficiant and populate the lesser crowded places then maybe so, but not in the cities.
Our water supply sewerage etc is doing it hard now so why keep pooring in more people.

And to stir the pot, the bloody abbos wouldn't know what a flag was if it wasn't for the white man.

Aside from a few freeways, a couple of tunnels and a desal plant nothing has changed in the last 50 years that I can see.

During this 50 years our population has gone from 5 Million to 20 Million.

if u would like to think back to the 50s and 60s a debate raged about all the wogs coming into the country and the cry was who needs them send them back but just look what they have achieved.if there is a problem its called multiculturalism and should be scraped immediately so as to allow these new people to become fully interrogated into our society.

Paul. Going back all those years when we NEEDED the population, and to be truthful we needed the Italians/greeks/ugalslavs/maltese etc etc etc
to show the ozzies how to get down and do a decent days work.
Well they showed us how to do it and THEY built this country into what it is now and we should ALL be very greatful for their influx and their teachings.
BUT we DON"T need any more, what we are bring into the country now is a hinderance more then a help, enough is enough.
