Had a cracker of a day today fellas.
After work i took the boat out with a mate and headed into 55 m of water where the current was screaming!

Before i even put my line through the first runner to rig up, my mate was onto a Snapper that went well over the kilo mark.

It was a great few hours and the action was non stop.
Ended up with 12 Snapper, 3 over the kilo and the rest around the 35 cm mark, a big Jacket, 2 Mowies and a pig fish!

Im glad to say that we didnt get bitten off by Jackets not once.

But it was tiring sending so much line out due to fishing floaters and the blazing current, and then having to always wind up a fish.

But i wont complain...

Best session ive had in a while!

But it did cost me something. As we clipped on the float ball thingy to bring the anchor up, we were driving off to retrieve it and the rope just tore apart.
I lost about 70 m of rope and an anchor.
We did go back and the ball was holding the end of the rope up, but as i grabbed it the current was pulling the boat to fast, it was dark, and i just couldnt get enough of it to wrap around the bollard.

I may nick out tomorrow or when the current settles down, on a low tide and see if my rope is up near the surface.

Great to see you out catching fish. Same thing happened to me with an anchor a few weeks back, but I just managed to catch the last coil before it went under. Just changed to some new silver rope. My rope (sounds like yours did the same) snapped a few feet from the bollard. The floats were down about 10ft, which brought it to the surface and allowed my mate to grab it before it went under. Good luck finding it.
