Poly if it is the spool that wont release, take it off and strip the clutch, if it is the reverse wind , seperate the gearbox and check that the spring hasn't jumped off and locked it in the wind position.

If you give them a call and ask for Tony in the reel repair section he will look after you. Tell him you spoke to a writer from Fishing World and he told you who too ask for. You can't fix something if you don't get feed back on a prob. Personally I don't own an Okuma but I know the lads there are all great blokes and will help B) -------------------- The George Street Shuffle |

its fixed after striping cleaning and greasing to no effect and a lot of head scratching i was at my wits end and ready to send it to okuma for repair. JG thought that if i hooked the line up to the car and ran it out this would free it up, this did not help at all in fact it made it worse locking the reel completely. wile removing the reel from the rod i dropped it on its end plate which dad the effect of freeing it a little so what the hell i bang it a couple more times and it free up completely, so if it should happen to u just give it a good belt .

Very simple poly !
You never put it back together correctly something was ajar & when you dropped the reel it re-aligned itself What I had suggested would've worked if it were a simple case of high spots on the drag they would've smoothed themselves out -------------------- Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |
