You know, come to think of it I'm not a big fan of flatties on the plate. Over rated eating fish IMO. Must be me though, but for the life of me I can't see what's so great about them? They're OK but there are much better eating fish out there.

What not a flatty fan well send them this way.Yummy deep friend with a nice beer batter with a touch of garlic and ginger.
But make sure it is only a touch otherwise it kills the flavour of the fish. -------------------- |

Alex you are strange, Flathead are very underrated, everyone loves a good feed of Flathead, nnot much better around Sydney Harbour thats for sure unless you get a Snapper but thats about it!

REALLY!!!??? Catch would rather release them and buy a battered piece of flake from the shop, or a can of tuna - right Alex? He's never caught one exept for the time he tangled himself up in his own line so how the Bloody Hell would he know what it's like to release one ??? -------------------- Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |

I've caught tuna...may have been a stripy but it's still a tuna!
Flatties are OK, but like I said there are heaps of better eating fish out there. Kingfish sashimi...now there's a meal that's hard to beat! And I don't eat flake. Whenever I eat fish it's most likely in raw form. This post has been edited by catchnrelease: Sep 15 2008, 04:08 AM -------------------- DANCE!

You're a strange puppy Alex. Why would anyone eat raw fish for a meal. Sure, as an appetiser is o.k. I personally reckon that it is an ego thing, where someone can say "Hey look at me, I can eat raw fish" or to brag about it to get a reaction from their social group. Come over and I will give you some raw fish. I will sit down and eat 2 fillets of nicely cooked fish and you can munch on 2 fillets of raw fish. I reckon I know who will enjoy theirs more. If you are still hungry, then I can bbq some nice hamburger patties and you can munch on the raw mincemeat if you like.
