Guys i was down at the markets and saw fresh small Cuttlefish at $4.99 kg.
I bought 5 kg of the stuff to freeze and use for Snapper. They are only small, about 10-20 cm in length. What i wanted to know is if i can drop them into the deep reefs whole, or does the bone cause a problem if a Reddy goes to take it? |

Why would the bone cause any probs ???????????
The snapper haven't deleloped a technique whereas they debone cuttlefish in the oceans nor do they remove the cartidge from squid. They just open their mouths & swallow -------------------- Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |

I thought that would be the case. But i was just thinking if they digest the bone, cause i cant see them passing it through.
IF they DIDNT eat it whole i was thinking would they pick around the bait, thus making a hook-up that little bit harder. Jumpy, am i wasting the bait dropping it whole, or should i halve it? They are only small. |

No not wasting your time.
No different to if you were to send down a whole pilchard or a live slimmy. If the bait is to big then the fish will attack it break it down to pieces they can swallow. As far as the bone goes ?? Stomach acids in fish are pretty potent & they will desolve it no probs -------------------- Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |

No. I have strong stomach acid which works to digest the bone.
I also have gills on the side of my neck............ |

sometimes i use cooked prawns for bait and you get some real strange looks when your fishing and you start eating the bait ha ha Just thinking and trying real hard at that. Where would the fish be able to cook their prawns before eating them. It would be interesting to see if you catch more or less fish from another person that would be using raw prawns. |
