Lazy Australia Post Delivery Drivers Has this happened to you recently!!! WE’VE all been there — waiting at home for the postie to deliver an urgent package. You cancel your plans, peer hopefully out of the window, take the phone off the hook and turn down the TV to make sure you don’t miss sound of the doorbell or a knock. And then, on the 47th desperate poke of your head outside the door, you look down and there it is: the slip. “We tried to deliver your package, but you weren’t home,” the mocking card reads. You’re furious at this point, as Sydney mum Julie Salama was yesterday. The difference is, she has the video proof. Ms Salama was fuming when she discovered a note slipped under her door as she waited quietly at home for an urgent business delivery via Australia Post. She knew she couldn’t have missed a genuine attempt to deliver her parcel, so went to review the footage captured by her home CCTV security system. |

You have NO idea of the trouble I have been having in Manilla Receiving Parcels, I have even had to go through Barnaby Joyce to get Australia Post to
respond to the Problem. From: George Parris Sent: Tuesday, October 20, 2015 11:20 AM To: barnaby.joyce.mp@aph.gov.au Subject: Australia Post Manilla 288 Manilla St Manilla 2346 20/10/2015 Dear Sir, I would like to report on an incident with the Postmaster at Manilla and the lack of response from Australia Post. Please note My story, I have lived at my Current address for 32 years, I am the Local Firearms and Pistol Dealer and I am in a Position of Trust and high standing in this Community. On Tuesday 13th October I received a parcel which was delivered to my door by the Parcel delivery lady ( a relative of the Postmaster) which I duly signed for, On the following day 14th October the same delivery lady came to my door and stated that she had a parcel that was in the vehicle and was too heavy and I would have to collect it from the vehicle, (This parcel was the same size as the previous day’s delivery but slightly lighter) She asked me to sign the delivery Reader which I did, as I was about to pick it up I noticed that it was slightly damaged, with that I stated that I wanted to check the contents for damage, and She became aggressive and said Get it out you have signed for it, I preceded to inspect the contents for damage, which I did, Again She told me to get it out I have signed for it, I picked the parcel which weighed 8.7kg and she slammed the rear door and walked around to the drivers door, I stood at the car door and told her that I would be reporting her to Australia Post. the next morning I rang Australia Post and was on hold when two Local Police officers Came to my door, they told me that the Post Master rang them and stated that I had threatened the delivery Lady, I explained the situation to them and they told me that my explanation sounded very reasonable and that they didn’t think that the complaint had Merit. I eventually got on to Aust Post and reported the incident and was told that I would be contacted by Australia Post and my reference number was: 03223534. I then received a Red card in my letterbox telling me to Collect a parcel from the Post office, I again rang Australia Post and told them about the red card and asked why my mail was held for collection, they Again told me that someone would contact me and my Ref number was : 03224988, On Friday 16th I received another red Card Indicating that I had More parcels for collection. On Monday I Contacted Australia post again and asked what was being done, I was then told Nothing had been done and that Reports would now be forwarded to the Tamworth Mail Centre and I would be contacted by them Reference number : 03250772. Tuesday 20th October I again Contacted Australia Post and asked what was happening with my Mail and what would happen to it, I was told that it was up to the Postmaster in Manilla, I then Asked to speak with a supervisor who told me that The Manilla Postmaster has indicated that I am a Security Risk, to which I asked That if I am a security risk at my Mailing address, Why does he want me to go into the Post Office to collect my mail, to which he replied I do not know, but that is what he wants. and again assured me that Australia Post WILL contact me, and the Manilla Postmaster Has the Right to Return my mail to the Sender. I would like to ask if the Honourable Barnaby Joyce could look into this matter and correspond with me as it appears that the Postmaster at Manilla can Make any decision he pleases concerning mail deliveries. Yours Faithfully George Parris. -------------------- I WANNA GO: FISHIN WITH SUMO.

I have a good relationship with my parcel guy, we are on a first name basis and IF something needs signing for
and I'm not home he will come back after hours and drop it off when I am home. Known him for years and used him when I worked for a living, used to be a courier and changed jobs. -------------------- Frank

I get on great with my Postie, we laugh about my specially angled letterbox which allows him to shoot the mail in easier.
