Well peeps went for a fush 2day & as usual I slept in again till the phone went ling ling to do Wakey wakeys

A mate from up the road wanted to catch a Kungy & I wanted sum Brim Bait so off we went.

Really wanted to hit up nth for some decent sized Reds but new putting the goat in the Habour would've been a nightmate & Botany Bay wasn't much better, Glorious day & every Tom Dicky & Hawwy was on the water pulling into Cooks river boat ramp was not a good sign trailers were parked all the way out into the street.

Bay was flat as got to 1st squiddy spot & the water was crystal clear, thought ewe beaut squid wont be such a challenge 2day my 1st 2 casts both resulted in squiddies then steve got wun but after that 4 sum reason they just shut down.

Wasn't going to waste the day looking for them in the Bay either & had decided 2 many goats on the water to troll them in the bay certain spots were like pitt st, so off we went down sth, 1st stop a spot that has produced pretty well got 5 more squiddy's quick smart but again they shut down.

Me tinks it twas because of the Kungs cruising up & down, every 5 minutes we had kungs around the goat, so off we went once more to another spot I thought would hold squiddies & boy didn't we hit the jackpot

Wun in evlly 2 casts produced for me anyway steve did all right as well [twas his 1st time squidding]

With around 20 squiddies in the tank we had more than enough & packed away the squid rods + I got sick & tired of getting Zotted with ink wun wittle sh*t got me a beauty & I looked like sumwun from ghost busters after getting slimed.

Head out to an offshore reef I knew found the Kungs on the sounder, downriggers out 1st squid lasted all of 3 minutes & 10 minutes was the longest we had to wait for a hookup.

Unfortunately none wotsoever were legal size & back into the dwink they went , tired of these small rats biggest 63 cm's , after awhile & the squiddy population was diminishing so opted to head back into the Bay.

Again we found the Kungs & again nothing legal not to mention they couldn't even pull drag off the reels so decided to give the Kungs a miss & go do a bit of bait fushing

Sounder wasn't showing to much snapper activity on the bottom only got a couple throw backs, velly quite to be honest so out came the Sp rod
I was using the 1 - 3 kg LOX spin & ewes wouldn't believe it the bloody Kungs kept hitting the lure twas a bit of fun & I gave the rod to steve who'd never
S Fed peeing.gif 'D B4

Another bloody Kung

Well we tired of these rat kungs not long after & were going to call it a day on the way in I said to steve lets give the Flat wuns a go & ewe can catch me my dinner !

Unlike that bees Knees chappy hu can only catch me wee wittle wuns that have to be thrown back steve goes & does the opposite &unlike that Happy Chappy Googlefushy hu I know 4shore fillets his flatwuns B4 releasing them hysterical.gif

I let this breeder go unharmed & in wun piece as it swam away I yelled to it

Swim Wittle Flathead ewe Mother & be Free

Not a GooDarus pic which does the fishy's size injustice but it did go 76 cm's

Well peeps that's my story & I'm sticking 2 it, got it arse about 2day kungs should've been 76 cm's & the flatwuns the smaller size

Not to worry though Jumpus aint going hungally twas still 1/2 doz of the more BiGGarus Squiddy's in the tank 4 me to do munchies on

Yep they're a bit of fun on the light gear but not the case yesterday on the Scotty2Hottys, sum of the smaller kungs weren't even breaking the release clips, had to keep an eye on the rod tips to give the hookups away.

Dont know if it will happen this year with all the work /silting going on but there should have allready been signs of surface action in the Bay, have not seen it yet but Salmon, Kungs, Bonnys etc etc should've allready started frothing up the water

I released it but Steve caught it & I knew it was a biggy as soon as I saw the action of the rod + that spot dosen't produce alot of flat wun but you're assured that wotever you hook there will be above average.

Steve was only to happy to see it swim away, it also helps when the skipper puts the notion that it's ok to release fush like that to breed/fight another day

Same goes with light line fushing, who ever I take out & samples light line fushing gets hooked cause they really enjoy it most saying they couldn't believe such large fush can be caught on such light lines.

In Steve's case think I've got him hooked on flicking lures about
