Can't believe it.. Decided to buy a new bomb and release clip for my new downrigger.
Went to Rays outdoors who sell fishing gear, no luck there so went onto BFC which
is a huge store with thousands of rods reels lures and whatever you could ever want for
fishing, walked around the fishing section for 15 minutes or so, up and down each isle
thinking I just haven't been looking hard enough, and didn't see a Release clip OR
a downrigger bomb. All this time not one person approached me and asked me if I
needed any assistance, finally seen a guy who I figured worked there and should be able to
steer me to where they kept the downriggers and accessories. Asked him did they sell downrigger
bombs and release clips. He stared at me like I was some sort of alian being.
I turned around and walked out.
Drove onto Complete Angler, I wanted a 4 lb bomb but had to settle for a 3 lb one, should do
the job, looked everywhere for release clip and couldn't see any, asked the guy behind the counter
and alas all sold out.
Will have to modify my old one to do the job, as it has double line hold for the secondary clip
from my old rigger, don't know what happened to my bottom release clip.
Anyhow going to try it out from Wednesday up at Lake StClair.

Thanks Poly. I have adapted my old release clip to do the job, but will go pay that store a visit when I get back next week.

Jumpy. It's OK mate, have adapted my old clip to suit.
Wanted 4lb but will have to settle for the 3lb, I will only be trolling at around 1.2 miles per hour or roughtly 2 k's per hour so the lighter ball shouldn't lift too much, if it does I will put my old 6lb ball on, the 10lb will be way too heavy for the shallow fresh water application.
Also when I get back I will replace the wire with braid, don't like the wire as it humms too much in deeper water, + there is only 100 feet of wire and if I use this thing instead of my old faithful, in the salt I could be rigging upto as much as 60 metres deep, so will load the reel with braid.
But not for this trip.
