Well fellas, after 8 long weeks i finally got my new trailer.
The thing shi7s all over my old one. It feels twice as heavy! Got it on Saturday and tried it out on Sunday. Launched out at Palm Beach and punched through a decent swell to Newport. When i got there i decided to not anchor and go to a spot about 9 and a half km out ive never been to. I punched in the marks and headed out there in a blowing west, south wester. Coming to the spot i saw a big boat up ahead, and low and behold he was anchored in my bloody spot!!! Central Coast Fishing Charters were the buggers! Sounded out a little bump further NE and anchored up there. Didnt stay long cause as soon as my lead hit the bottom it was greeted by the leatherjackets! NOT HAPPY!!! Pulled up anchor and headed back inside. Alot of work considering i was doing it solo. Ended up catching rubbish fish and headed back to the ramp to see how the boat went back on. Piece of piss! Cant wait to try it out at Long Reef to give it the real test....

Good news on the trailer Salty..
But roughly a 20km round trip doesn't sound like fun. How far is long reef from BJ? I thought that was about 9km? or is that your spot? -------------------- Don't hate me, cause you ain't me... :)

Hey phil Were the Red Rollers on SPECIAL ?????????? You've got enough of them Mate, i told him i dont want him to cut any corners anywhere. I wanted him to build me a trailer that he would build for himself. He knows how hard this particular ramp can be on boats and trailers so i decided to go overkill so i wouldnt have any problems. I couldve gone abit cheaper but thought if i was going to spend that much i may as well go all out. The only thing i didnt get was stainless steel pins in the rollers. No good for me those. But i did get him to throw in a 10-1 heavy duty winch due to it being completed 5 weeks late. I can use that instead of the electric when i launch at the conventional ramps. It also slides into the bracket mount easily so i can swap the two over as easy as lighting a cigarette. |

I didnt even head that way. The spot i meant was Esmeraldas. You may know it. Ive never had the chance to fish it. Sunday was the first day i ventured out there. I didnt even get a looky at the structure there due to the big boat sitting on it. All i know is that its in about 65 m of the wet stuff. |

No Christos, i really caught rubbish fish. Havnt you heard of them before??? They work hard around our oceans to clean up all the scraps left by others. Amazing little buggers. Heres a picture of one that i took on the weekend when he jumped on my transom and asked if he could take my empty Mars Bar wrapper off me.
