Great day Dave.
You thought you were doing so well you almost decided to do a Jesus by walking across the water did you?
Hopefully i can get the same action. I just set the kayak up to take out at Long Reef in the morning.
Even if i get no fish action il definitely get it by peddling around.

My daughter, Alison, had a birthday today and asked if the old man would take her out on the boat. Didn't see Dave, but can verify his description of the Bay. It was just great.
Motored out to 'the spot' off La Perouse and spotted a decrepit old runabout, with a decrepit old man of short stature anchored up on my spot. Told him to leave, or I would throw burley at him. He mumbled something about no fish and polka music before he headed off for bluer pastures. Ali made me bait her hook, but I taught her how to at least cast the rod. Didn't even get my hook baited before she squealed like a girl that something was trying to pull her over the side. Well it was one after another, and I had left the camera behind. A couple of hours on the water was great and to see her catch a few decent fish was also a buzz. She did mention that the reel on her rod was broken, as it was making a terrible noise and wasn't pulling in any line. I explained to her what a drag was, and how it worked. Had a half dozen of the largest in the live tank, but Ali said that they didn't look like they enjoyed it in there, and could I let them go. All fish released. Next time I will put a lid on the tank, so she can't see them. Got a bunch of good Trevally, two plate sized snapper and 2 sweep. Ali hooked a baby snapper through the side and accounted for the sweep.
Never saw the short stumpy man in the old white boat again. He was headed out to sea, so hope he made it back.

That's because he was out there yesterday & not today laugh.gif laugh.gif

Zorbric !

you did better than we did yesterday, have to admit we could've used the extra burley that only you could've provided laugh.gif laugh.gif

I think that you use a stick like device that contain circles that allows a type of string to pass through with a spool like device that has the string rolled up.
