Went and seen my mechanic today to sort out a few minor problems with my motor.
I got to his workshop to see just a couple of stray boats here and there, and him and his worker with a ute and trailer full of outboards. I thought just my luck, he's gone broke and is doing a flitt. Anyhow my jumping to conclusions were wrong, they are re locating to different premises. He hasn't a workshop to do any work in for the next 2 weeks. He is a decent guy though and when I told him I want to use the boat at the end of the month, he has arranged for me to take the boat to his own home where is has a smallish workshop, and he will personally fix any problems that are wrong with the motor and have it done for me before I need it. In his spare time between moving and setting up new premises. He also said to me to allow an extra hour of MY time when I go and pick the boat up cause he wants to take it down and water test it, with me onboard to make sure I am completely satisfied with the whole package. -------------------- Frank

That's great Nimrod you better tell us who he is & where he's going to.
My OB guy is moving way down the South Coast soon, I was going to do my own work but if I can find a good guy local I'd rather pay him to do it. -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

That's great Nimrod you better tell us who he is & where he's going to. My OB guy is moving way down the South Coast soon, I was going to do my own work but if I can find a good guy local I'd rather pay him to do it. Fed. Don't know if he is the same with everyone and if everyone is happy with his service or not, I can only relate to how he treats me, and I am extremely happy. When I first decided to buy the motor off him, he did bugger me around a bit and took far too long to get the boat ready for me, but he did compansate me for the problems and I came away with an extremely good deal. It's not his fault my dickhead mate lets a boat sit in a paddock for 7 months rotting away. His company name is Affordable Boats and he was at Moorebank, also believe he had a branch somewhere in Revesby or close. He is moving somewhere in Chullora/Greenacre, which is a couple of casts away from me. All I can do now is wait and see if he comes through with his good intentions. if not he gets badmouthed, if so I will give him praise. -------------------- Frank
