For anyone interested I just heard on the radio that the new Foreshore Rd boat ramp will be opened at 9.00am Monday 9th of November.
You'd better get shaking Jumpy.

Have you been down to have a look at it yet, I hope it's not too flat for you.

Anything's gotta be better then the one we used to have at Penrhyn, before they made the one on the corner, anywhere approching low tide and you could forget about launching there.
Cooks will still be my favored ramp IF I ever get to go fishing again in the area.

I've gotta keep him on his toes Bees, I think he's going a bit senile.
Haven't you noticed when he's talking to you he will suddenly stop talking mid sentence then his eyes get that 1000 yard stare and sort of glaze over?

Yep it's a good ramp but go have a sticky beak @ the new Pt Botany

I saw the plans ages ago & have been watching progress from the rd
Looks like they've even included a break wall

Think Fed has stolen your theme song Bees !

Come and listen to a story about a man named Fed
A shiny headed mountaineer, barely kept Seafairy fed,
Then one day he was launching at some ramp,
And up through the ground came a bubblin nude.

kinky that is, high heel gold, Texas tea.

Well the first thing you know ol Fed's a 22.gif ,
Kinfolk said "Fed move away from there"
Said "Pt Botany is the place you ought to be"
So they loaded up the fairy and moved to Botany.

Hills, that is. Swimmin pools, movie stars {Jumpus] laugh.gif .

Well now its time to say good by to Fed and all his kin.
And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin in.
You're all invited back a gain to this locality
To have a heapin helpin of their hospitality

Hillybilly that is. Set a spell, Take your shoes off.

Y'all come back now, y'hear?.

Just an expression mate. The older I get the less I am going fishing.
I haven't been fishing in the bay, or anywhere local to Sydney now for quiet a while and the longer it goes on the less likely
I will do it.

Was driving down 4shore rd 2day & thought I'd pull in to have a looky @ the Ramp.

Can assure evlly wun it's definately not a Hillbilly ramp nor were there any Red Neck signs indicating that it was hysterical.gif

It had a good slope & the breakwall was alot bigger than it looked from the road.

Thought it was there to protectboats in a southerly but it's pretruding angle said otherwise
A velly GooDarus guess is it's there to avoid silting of the ramp as the storm water drainage further up is still there

On a big Downside, it's only 2 lanes, I was under the impression it twas supp'd to have Mr Bean 6 lanes

Come summer I can see big backlogs when the weekend warriors venture out not to mention those pesty jet ski users who seem to use ramps as a meeting & chatting place

Yup, the weekend warriors....most are fine-reverse down, dump boat get out of the way for the next person then you get held up by the fool who chooses to get everything ready for launch once he's reversed down the ramp-thats where the delays come from.

Was there last year bout this time in a good 30 boat line-up, launched within 40 mins, a few weeks after line-up was half the size but took over an hour-bloody fools with broken arse engines held things up-then broke a winch cable.

i dont like it

i could see it being a problem.. just look how narrow there is.. for about 50 meters.. a few boats tied up, a few idiots in boats driving around .. people with no idea = lots of problems in the big summer crowds

Those ramps look like a fight waiting to happen.
All that to avoid getting your feet wet, give me a ramp and a bit of sand any day.

No such thing as a bad boat ramp
Unless of course were talking about a Hillbilly ramp hysterical.gif

I rocked up to the old Pt Boatany ramp on a weekend velly rare 4 me & to boot was up velly early that day

Wot a shock when I got there as there were @ least 40 boats waitng to launch, was thinking of doing a U turn & going to the Cooks river ramp but logic said it would be jaust as packed there & that ramp has only 1/2 the parking spaces so I waited.

Wot a surprise that morn we were on the water in no time @ all evlly wun B4 us did the right thing & were4 considerate to those waiting.

Moral of this story is your more serious fisho's are generally alot more considerate & have a clue on the boat ramps

It's those once in a blue mooners who cause all the havic along with the jet ski'ers & La De Da boat owners

I can see you doing an afternoon launch there Jumpy and getting blocked in by boats parked along both wharfs.
Remember the mass launching at the ansa comps we went to, a lot of boats and all off in no time without a hitch.

Quite the opposite
Thw layout suits my type of launching down to a T

I'm not wun of those peeps who ties up to the wharfs I only use them to pick up & drop off crew to go fetch the car

Just had a closer look at the pic then, the water between the wharfs looks plenty wide enough for 3 boats so long as they aren't tugs so it could all be good.
