This week I seem to be traveling quite a bit. I was at Taren Point and coming back over the Captains Cook Bridge I thought that I should make sure that I knew where the St George Motor Boat Club is.
It was very easy to locate but I must admit that I was not fully aware of this as I was going to be at the St George Sailing Club. One is East and the other is West of the Captain Cooks Bridge. For those that do not know where this is here are some directions. Coming from the South (Caringbah) make a LEFT turn at the first traffic light after coming off the bridge (Wellington Rd). For those coming from the north make a LEFT turn into Fontainebleau Street so that you can do a U turn and cross over Rocky Point road. Fontainebleau Street becomes Wellington and St George Motor Boat Club is at the end of the street. There is no right turn on to Wellington from Rocky point road. Unless I am wrong. But I know that I have no wish to travel over the bridge just to prove one way or other. But if someone else would like to try please let us know on the day. Thank you This post has been edited by Christos: Apr 8 2008, 06:35 PM |

That's the one Christos
Just thought I'd mention something as well ! Jack has said. QUOTE I was made to think of the St.George motor boat club. It has a nice outside terrace and some food as well. Well there's also downstairs bar & tables/chairs as well & think for those who intend coming via boat & having a fish on the day this is a better option. You dont need to sign in or wear suitable attire such as socks shoes cause you're not actually in the clubhouse. There's also a set of stairs there where you can duck up top & order food from the bistro then bring it downstairs to the tables to eat. One word of warning ! Dont wear a hat to the bar else you'll be shouting the bar -------------------- Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |

I'm glad the directions were clarified. I had it in my head that it was the sailing club. Trying to get there, but not certain yet.

After reading all the posts I understand that the meet and greet will be either Saturday or Sunday, maybe in the morning or after 3 Pm. Some members may be turning up but then again they may not. You are right Jumpy, organising these things is a nightmare.
But, the venue is rock solid! So, Jack you started this, what is the final call and surely you can get out of doing "family things" for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Let the kids walk to soccer, netball, tennis (whatever) it will do them good. Reminds me when I was younger walking 10 Kms to school through knee deep snow and uphill both ways. LUXURY! Haji By the way I have arranged to take Martin out to Kurnell/Boat Harbour today, using the 4WD so will get him onto the beach etc. Should be good. Jumpy,
Date: 13 April 08 Time: ?? Location: ?? So are you coming? |
