Mentioned in another thread that I may be able to get some tackle that cant be re-sold as new to the retail shops
Now I have to ask 1st but was toying around with a few idea's one of which was to have the items here on Auction with a reserve price hidden away from you guys.
Now that reserve would be hidden so as none of you know what the item owes & anything above that reserve price will go into a pot until a suitable charity can be nominated.
Think that's pretty fair dont you's ??????????????
Just curious how many would be interested in such a thingy ??????????????????
Do we PM you with our price or can others see what we nominate?
Nope you bid in the thread nominate for that item for all to see
Its all a good idea..
but seeing how much we each bid could cause some disagreements over price and outbidding each other? I dunno?
Nope all bidding has to be done in full view of everyone elseI may get accused of cheatering
Why should there be any disagreements over price ???
You want it then you outbid the other people simpl;e as that
If reserve has not been met then I pull the item
Anything over reserve goes to charity
So to stop any arguements your excuse is that you're donating to charity
yep yep... fair call..
Im in.....
First item can be a 10kg Jig Stick!!!
Wont work like that Jack
The gear I'm refering to will be stuff with scratch's rods needing guides replaced [ which I'll do prior to offering them]
I may however put some of my own personal stuff up as well think there's way to much here & I'll never use it.
Same deal apply's I'll have a reserve on it & anything over that reserve price goes to charity.
Think that's fair ??????????????????????
Think it may get some of those lurkers registering on the site as well
All sites have Lurkers Bee's
Peep's who only look never register or post
Give those guys something of interest & they'll join in esp if they think they can get something for a bargain
OMG, Fishing Oz Style version of E-bay and you can add comments.
It's a good idea.
Just a suggestion for a charity, Ronald McDonald House.
I really feel sorry for "out of town" parents of sick kids having to pay for accomodation while having to deal with a sick kid. Bloody Doctors bills cost enough.
Just out of curiosity, are the people here after the high end gear, eg. graphite rods, or do some of you want mid range glass rods?
I bought a really nice Viva 6' glass rods for my son, and the quality is excellent for the price.
bit of everything is good! some variety.. rods, reels.. then you can just buy what you want....
Only those who have purchased or sold something will have the option to nominate a charity
I'll then set up a poll & those who've purchased can vote.
I will be interested. I will see how I go.
ive know jumpy for 30yrs or so and i know it will work for you can be trusted you are honest and fair jump im behind you 100%....get movin bro.........some of the stuff you have is just not used so better sell it to some one that will put it to good use ...good one ......go go go go
I'm in............
sounds good ,,great idea jump
Take a photo of the money and post it on the thread.
you could allways start a feedback section ,but it may cause arguements ,,maybe we could send payment to a nominated person and they could pas it on ,that way theres no confusion and proof for both parties ,,,i know it could be a hassle doin it that way but it would be safer ,,,
Although I pretty well have all the gear I need, there is often items I see that I want.
So bring it on, and IF you don't want and are not willing to pay for, DON't bid on items.
Come to think of it there are items I need. A fish smoker for 1, but I doubt one of those will come up
for auction.
When is this going to start ?.
Frank
Do you want a full PHP auction scripted installed.
Not sure what you mean oz ?????
I was just thinking of putting each item up as a thread , that way peeps can also discuss the items no different to any other thread.
I was also going to add a little banner in the smileys option Bid
So as not to confuse who's bidding & who's not.
Think these threads can also generate conversation
I'm just about to take off to my oldies place I'll take the camera & see what gear I dont want anymore that I can RIP you guys off with
Whoops meant to say find new homes for
Think a new Forum & title for it may be in order with the buy & sell moved into it & a new sub forum called Auctions added
http://www.fishingozstyle.info/auction/
Looks the goodz OZ..
Could prob be simpler to start, unless we end uo with heaps of items?
Lacks the option to discuss items & that's what these boards are about
Also you may have to register that link as a buisness & lodge financials every year
i dont think we need the option to discuss things ,if the seller puts the best discription they can that should be all it needs ,that way it wont get to confusing on whos bidding and whos yakkin
this was already mentioned in one of the auction threads but I think there should be a set time for the auction to run. That is fair for all parties (seller and buyer).
Not much point in putting a bid in if the auction might stay up for 6 more months.
Since there is a reserve on the auction there really is no reason not to. If the auction doesn't sell at a price over the reserve after the initial time, just extend it by another week, or take it down and put it back up at another time.
Yep Yep Bunyip Man
Was actually thinking about it earlier when it was mention
I sus'd up all the angles
You're correct as were some of the others , no good an item staying on sale for a month if the person who'd bid on it spent their $$'s elsewhere
Think 10 days is fair & if the item dosn't reach it's reserve all reply's can be deleted & it can start all over again.
I will start a new thread 2morrow which peeps can give feedback on the way the items are auctioned off it's a bit of trial & error @ present
May whack a couple of my old LBG rods up for you
Oldies but were great for their day & still pretty good by todays standards once I wipe the dust off them
