OK peeps !
Going down to Goulbourn 2morro I left a wittle Daihatsu diesel 4wd there a few years back on a property that I used to visit.
Great little 4wd it was untill the owners kids blew up the gearbox playing stupid buggers, anywayswas going to buy another unregistered small 4wd but reckon y not just replce the gearbox on this one nothing wrong with the rest of the mechanicals on this one I hope.
Anyways many many moons ago I saw these 2 guys tow a VW buggy out to a property the buggy was registered as a trailer & a removeable A Frame was used to tow the buggy with.
Has anyone done this B4 or have any knowledge of wots required to get it registered as a trailer ??????
just put that link here jas saves looking for it again
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/vsi/vsi_41_-_guidelines_for_a-frame_towing_nov_2007.pdf
too much work mate, better off just getting a trailer...
then ya can use it for other stuff...
stick with a small bugy like diahatsu and ya only need a small trailer..
why not just buy something thats regod and drive it where your hunting and use it ,saves dragging around a big trailer and then finding somewhere to store it
Because to have a register 4wd here in Sydney will cost around $1,500 a year & you still need to store it + wot ever you get will be a piece of sh*t & I wouldn't want to drive it out woop woop & back every trip.
If you get a small 4wd which is the ideal car to get then you cant carry to much in it.
Get a big 4wd & it wont be as good off road either way if you get stuck you dont have a back up vehicle.
I'm sending Dave down to Bungonia to retrieve my Daihatsu it's the ideal 4wd will go anywhere & to boot it's desiel & geared low
Build a car trailer mate, sounds easy when you say it fast eh?
My mate was building a trailer outta a ute & they stopped half way through , saying somthing about it's not alowed anymore .
So i naturaly thought this A frame idea would be out too .
Until i read that link.......Yeah it's allowed but whats the point both cars have to be Rego'd ???
So JG ya gonna rego this little thing then A frame it around or what????
the only way around a trailer is to rego it ,if no rego than you have to have it on a trailer
actually that reminds me ,when i was towing home the buggy we got pulled up by the cops and because it was unregod he could of fined us for that but he wasnt sure ,a couple days later he rang me and said he would let us off but that was the rule if its unregod it has to go on a trailer because it dont have any type of insurance in case of an accident
i dont know if ya can do that ,never heard of that before ???????????
yea, id check carfully on the laws on it all jumps, I know with my old work we had a few issues with some.. RTA wouldnt allow wm, but again, it seems like th info you have say otherwise?
Jumpus, An Engineer certified A frame Is worth about $4000 all lights and brakes must work on towed vehicle,
Most small 4wd's manufactured before 1990 can be carried on a 10x5 trailer but later models need a 10x6 which is what my trailer I use behind the Bus is.
the rego cost is about $140 it has override brakes and is registered at 2000kg.
You could be a bit unco for a bike Jumpy, you ever ridden one?
It's like riding a woman Fed !
Once you've been on top ewe never 4get
where not talkin about your blow up doll jumpy ,thats a different kettle of fish lol
PLEASE,PLEASE oh pretty PLEASE,
Whack up some pics when ya get it , this should be good .
JG on a peewee
ide work out where ya gonna put it first before i do anything
I got a bike ill sell ya JG....
Its great, just been fully rebuilt and ready to chase down any animal..
