Hey fellas.
Been a while since ive posted seriously, unless im taking the piss out of Jumpy.
Ive needed to buy a new dual cab 4x4 for months now.
My last 2 cars have been Hilux's. Currently i have the 04 model and the things been pissing me off since i got it.
Its petrol and i fill it up at least twice a week.
Its always got a small problem with it.
So im over the Hilux!
Im after a diesel and my cousin manages a Holden dealership and if it comes down to $$$ i know i wont get a better deal.
Only one problem, im not too into the Colorados. Dont know much about them....
Any ideas or personal reviews would be great.
And yes Jumpy, i need a ute so i can carry my milk crates in the back.....
It's beyond me why anyone would want a 4x4 unless they have a real use for one and to me real use means serious off road driving or a huge boat to tow.
My mate has his third Rodeo and loves them. I much prefer the Nissan Dual cab diesel. If you don't like the hilux, then you need to decide. Cheap and risky or expensive and reliable
Fair enough Salty, btw I half burnt out the clutch on a brand new hilux once they really are a light weight car imo.
Phil. Not that I could ever afford to buy a new car,,, BUT if I was making the choice, I would first consider how long I am going to keep this car.
Let's say you will keep it 5 years,, what I would do is decide how much dearer is a decent vehicle such as a Navara going to cost you over and above what the lesser vehicle will cost and devide the difference by those 5 years and calculate how much more expensive is the better car going to cost you per year,,, and IS it worth it to save that little amount of money to be driving an inferior vehicle for the next 5 years.
I'd rather have a second hand landcruiser than a new hilux.
Is Salty the dwarf you keep on talking about, being perched up high enough to see over the dash might mean his feet won't reach the pedals.
That's him wittle short arse guy.
He looked different last time i saw him thought he may have grown so grabbed a tape measure.
Nope same short arse as last time 2 ft 3 inch's tall bugger was wearing platform shoes he'd saved from the 70's
we run ford rangers at work, don't go near them, they are rubbish
as for the hilux, I have one with the 3lt diesel and love it average around 10lt to the hundred round town
Paul
I wouldnt touch anything but a diesel hilux ;)
Will prob be buying our second one very soon, just so much more comfy than the cruiser...
