Depends if you're handy with a welder Rumpus ??

Even still most of the time it's better to just get it all done I've found doing it yourself gets to be more expensive than the ready mades

Yea, by the time i buy the bits, paint, and do the work its not going to save much.

Yep Yep think to many peeps think they're saving $$$'s by doing it themselves but they're not

Again that depends on what you are building

also, want to ran a canopy of the side of it for camping and trying to think if th best way to do it, i would have liked a zip on attachment but they say the zips not strong enough and want to use aluminium extrusion which means just another thing to carry...

anyone got any other ideas?

they want $500 JUST TO MAKE THE FRAME!!!

one peice of 35mm tube with 4 bends and a plate on the bottoms with 2 holes and 3 peices to run lenghtways with bolts..

If i had the bender i would do it myself but i dont.... :(

Well, if anyone cares smile.gif

I found another steel shop who will supply the steel (cut to size and bent to shape) for $100..

Just have to mig it all up myself which is easy enough and painting i will figure out later? prolly just brush and some roofing paint will be easy an cheap.

so thats a massive saving, so hopefully have my canapy on by end of next month!

Chad I had a chat with Malcolm, He made one last week for a bloke , 12oz canvas with Zips and elastic hooks cost $600 same height as cab. he said (Poly tarp side) is a bit dearer, he needs the vehicle for one Saturday to make it to suit your frame and vehicle, and 1 to 2 weeks notice to book in and do the job.
