Work it out ew ninkompoopee's
Thats easy
your building a new cage for the ferrets
Ahhh looks like a new style of slippery dip for tha grandkids.
Ku ewe guys were wally's
It's gunna bee my new Bat Mobile
When you get there how about some close up shots of how the keel area fits together mate?
I nearly forgot, you're behind the times mate, nowdays you build a shell & drive stringers up its arse with a sledge hammer.
BTW, I call bullshit on pressure testing to 150 PSI without a bomb containment unit to put it in.
I'm no engineer but I seriously doubt a 4mm square ally tank would survive 150 PSI without major deformation, maybe Pelagic meant 150 KPA.
Interesting to watch 2 plate threads at the same time.
Of coarse you know that thread was started as a deliberate attempt to take away any focus that may have been Jumpy's way. and to some how put a bit of shit on Jays thread.
I strongly believe Jumpy should have started an entire new thread with his build, not start his build 11 pages into a thread.
But what would I know.
I didn't see it like that Frank but you could be right.
It will be interesting to see the different ways people do it.
One thing I'd like to know is the time frame around the Pelagic pictures.
Fed it is meant to depict Jay as 2nd rate, but I think it will turn around and bight Spiro on the arse.
Those pictures are from a factory made boat and has probably taken 3-4 weeks to get to that stage with god knows how many guys working on it, they do so much to one boat, then leave it sit for a while as they do a bit more to other boats and so forth, probably got 5-5 boats going at the one time at verious stages.
When you went to predator, was shortly after those guys took over the name and factory, that's where my T I G machine came from it was used to build the boats up till that stage.
When them guys took over from my mates they had 1/2 a boat built, which they finished and the one you seen would probably be the 1st maybe 2nd attempt they had of building a plate boat.
So don't judge the previously built Predators as being anything like the frame you seen, the old predators were a country shit house as solid as a rock.
I knew the original owner of predator from 30 years back frank
He used to work for Broadbill
WTF?
180 - 146 = 34
can i have this one when its finished, it may convince me tin boats are ok after all
Paul
A couple of questions Jumpy.
What's going on with the predator boat he doesn't seem to have welded the side sheets to the frames except for one, there's huge gaps in the rest?
Are you putting outriggers on your hull or stabi waterwings, surely it will fall over with a 34 degree deadrise.
wot you on about fed
You said your deadrise was 24 then you changed it to 34 and at 34 it would fall over in the water without outriggers or waterwings.
How is it going, you have to be enjoying the cooler weather after the previous summer builds.
BTW the guy from Predator explained that if he welded the side sheets to the frames it causes distortion so they don't normally do it like that unless it's a survey boat so don't worry about my previous question.
MORE PICTURES PLEASE MATE.
Been coming home tired
Who's this predator guy you're on about ??
The guy from predator boats.
Coming home tired is a good sign of plenty of work getting done.
After the last builds we're all expecting huge progress every day, you're getting too old and slowing down mate. Be careful you don't blow a valve .
Bloody Fed with the shinny head wants to see pics
Transom just about done
Live bait tank
My apprentice padwunlearner ChewEverythingBarker
Live Bait complete next 2 bays are fuel tanks
You're a good man Jumpy thanks.
Is the mutt different I seem to remember he had some white around one eye?
Have you sourced the fuel line yet, remember you had trouble getting it before?
NB: Don't forget the new & improved breather cover. ;)
opted to run 32mm hose it's readily available
Wasn't going to go through days of seaching again
What are you planning for the top half?
Pelagic not Predator, it only took 9 days for the penny to drop...Duh.
Come on Jumpy how about some pictures?
Got to remember Fedarika i'm not pelican goats & work on my own so my methods differ
Making a mess with the floation
Hull prior to triming into shape i wanted
Nose all closed up
Best gadget ever gives me all my vertical/horizontal lines no plans needed
Sides getting trimed
Box for tranny
Internal view so far
Sides all trimed up
Hey your camera has developed white spot desease.
OK be a wanker, I thought you would use a wetbox for the tranny, I'm surprised it shoots through both the SIKAFLEX and the BIRDSHIT without losing too much power.
Wanker
A few progress pics
Hullzilla taking shape
Transom nearly complete
It is looking very impresive
you seem to have it going pretty smoothly
Just wondering no door in transom?
The welds are not as rough
so it will be a very good looking boat when finished
EXPECIALY WHEN YOU FIBERGLASS IT
What's going on down in the back Port corner?
Lift your act Jumpy I want to see more detailed pics and better descriptions.
Up Yours the pair of ewe
Getting flipped
Trailer drawn up should have it just about built tommoro
It's a bloody Masonic boat, big secret unless you know the handshake & wear an apron.
Trailer getting done
Looks like a lot of boat overhanging at the back mate, perhaps it's just the picture?
I feel like we've been spoiled watching the other builds, get your finger out and work faster.
Hi Jumpy
This new trailer system you are using might look convenient but I'd stick with the trailer system you used for your "old" boat.
It really slows you down, welding the trailer to the bottom of the boat.
take the slr next time you are out there.
Jack
The new boat is looking very sexy Jumpy.
I hope there is a invite for me on its maiden voyage.
Suppose ewe want me to include a spin dryer for your Lizzard Rags ?
nice work Jumpy .
Prob be painting the trailer 2mollo
How are the brake calipers on this one Jumpy, can the cable be set up to pull from the front?
They're offset but i'll still run them through pulleys
Rear view opted to recess lights into gaurds this time just to SHUT FRANK UP
No plate holder under
Front view
Priddy good trailer, JG. Wanna renovate mine? C'mon you got the time.........
Trailer just about done
just needs skids & lights
Seal up the floor 2mollo so borrowered mates spray booth 2 du paintings
did get start on cabin
A smaller version of the big boat Jumpy?
Do you drive standing up or sitting down, I'm about 50/50 but the older I get the more I find myself sitting down. I like to look over the screen when standing & though the screen when sitting and still have my feet on the floor when sitting.
I'm guessing you will still look through the screen when standing just like the big boat.
I'm a huge fan of hard tops but wind in your face on a hot day is hard to beat, make some air scoops for the front deck & pipe fresh air through to the wheelhouse or put a hatch in the roof that hinges at the back & you can crack open the front a few inches, instant air conditioning.
Looking good mate, hurry up.
looking very goodarus jumpy
i like feds idea about wind scoops
and i hope you leave the roof short enough so that water drips down your back
Bit of a break of late sorta did sum work 2day
Droped the fuel tanks in & sealed the floor
used neoprene cushioning
tanks in & plumbed up
now i can walk around inside without fear of falling in the hole
I guess you checked it out but don't forget the problems Quintrex had with their rubber pads in the old days.
Stop getting crook & work harder we want ACTION!
Up yours ewe shinny head
Dont look like it but there's alot of work in pics below very time consuming
What's the recessed box in the floor of the last pic?
Storage
V sheet sea anchor etc
Been slow of late but cabin just about done just consol & a few tidy ups left
Looking spoofy pal...
Where are the ashtrays going Jumpy?
I thought it would be a pain but it turned out being no trouble at all using the Seafarer trapdoor, you can stand up in it and it frees up both hands for doing the anchor stuff.
Some bastard welded a bit of scrap onto your cabin side mate, you better cut that ugly POS off quick smart.
Your last pic reminded me I need to find a new milk crate, lost the last one when I cleaned out the old factory.... short of mugging a milkman where the hell do you get a milk crate I wonder?
Not everyone likes their goats the same way frank
I hate those hatch's & like the option of being able to walk to the bow
Ewe still alive shinny
A few close ups of yesterday's pic
overhead consol
niche housing switch panels
stand off for steering wheel didn't realise till late this arvo silly me welded it in back to front do a new wun 2morro
Sounder, gps housings
glove box & shit bar
When I saw the wheel stand off I thought it was just the camera tricking me you silly bugger.
What's the big dent in it did you whack it with a hammer?
Have you ordered the VERY thick paint yet, colour scheme?
Just about done now hoping to get paint on sides & hull by weekend
Mr Hart what a brothel
Hope the seats are stronger in this goat Ange?
Jumpy. You have done well again, always that little bit harder when the health wont stay pase with the goal, but you are getting there and I know it's gonna be yet another cracker of a boat.
BTW do you know anyone that might be interested in my T I G machine, just needs the switch rewired.
Very happy with this wun
Dont really get full view in the workshop pulled it out today ready for paint
Had to stop & absorb it every time i walked in / out shop
Looks nothing like that ugly looking pez this goat has style
looks good jumpy
that is till you get in it
Up yours you phat bastard

Only a few days worth of work left
[quote name='Jumpus GooDarus' post='31038' date='Sep 6 2012, 08:53 PM']Only a few days worth of work left
{/quote]
Like the name, well done
Looks awesome JG..
Nice one .
Jumpy. just 2 small critisims 1 and it';s not really vital cause it's a drive on, but the winch cradle/post in my mind could be about 3 inches higher, it appears to me that the winch cable would not be allinged properly with the winch hook of the boat and the last few turns of the winch ( the vital part ) you would be draging the boat nose down more then forward which would put strain on both winch and boat. ( quiet easily remedied by placing block under wince to lift it that 3 ".
The other small critism I would rather discuss eye to eye next time I see you cause it's pretty involved.
Built a few now frank & honestly cant find any merit in what you're saying
Boat is a drive on for starters i dont use the winch
Winch post hight was purposely lowered on this rig compared to the others
Logic told me it would drag nose down coupled by strap over arse of boat
It aint going no where on the road
The Donkey
All Done
Taking it out for a run 2mollo
Very good. Hope all goes well. No reason it shouldn't as you have done everything right.
I hope it doesn't rain...drip,drip,drip,drip....
That's a lot of weight behind the last point of support on the trailer Jumpy, at the big fish tail fin?
Yeah I know, I know,... "get F**Ked FED" but seriously it's a big ask for a tinny to carry.
Hope it goes great today, I'm looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.
Jumpy i have been watching each post on this thread with interest. And its all come together just the way you wanted it to. You are a freak and i tip my hat to you. After today,s little spin in the bay it was enough to give me a little stiffy. I am look forward to getting out there in the deep blue sea with you and getting a bit of blood on the deck.
Ten out of Ten mate its a cracking boat!
Cheers Nob.
J.G......................................... were is the VIDEO we need the VIDEO ,no not that video, the one of your new boat.
we all know you spent the money and bought a video camera, so show us the movie if you can
Paul
FED "get F**Ked
poly how many times do i have to tell you ??
Jumpus dosen't do Nude TV
Boat howls
Had the 1st fish out of the new goat today & of course jumpus had to show the nob who the master is wunce again
Keep trying pad1learner
Pretty fish. Are they goldfish? They aren't black......
Any seals or jackets around. Enough space, with the big box in the middle of the deck? I have a 90l esky in my boat and it can be a P.I.T.A. at times. Think I will leave it at home when I take the boat out next. Never put fish in it anyway. Good going.
Thanks of the day out it was a great day on the water in the new boat.
I am always learning from you flapper and i wont be shy in saying you are a pretty good angler "and you know it"
I can say this " i wont be walking around with my head up my ass thinking i know it all" not like the others you have taught.
Cheers Nob!
Wow nice looking boat, i can't believe you built another one haha. What do you do with all your boats now ? i might have missed it but do you still have the other 2 boats ? and was there any reason for building this one ?
Either way looks great
Don't worry about the porpoising, when the arse sags from overhanging the trailer it will put a hook in the hull.
Built in trim tab for free without turning the boat into a cripple with engine trim.
Well done jumpy POP looks very good
what is the length and beam? muck bigger than the old goat?
Another brilliant build. who do you use for your plans Im keen on getting a set of plans like your small boat.
No plans
Make up the design as i go along
Yohoo Yo wally's seems pics in this thread are gawn
Hu remembers this goat ??
Well i decided tu keep it & after a few mods it now looks like this
That's all I have to say about that.
Fugly but if it works better then I guess it's OK, not keen on the name change either.
My honest opinion I preferred it with the white cabin, but the addition of the bow mount electric is nice.
Could have left the bow rail on and just modified it around the leckie.
Name is neither here nor there. I thought it was a nice touch in memory of your dad.
Well we do have our own image site
